Kevin McCollum

Kevin McCollum is one of the leading producers on Broadway. He graduated from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music in 1984.[1]

He was co-producer of the musical Rent in 1996. That year the play won Tony Awards for Best Musical, Best Book, Best Score and Best Featured Actor. It also won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, making it only the fifth musical to ever win both the Pulitzer and the Tony. It also took the Best Musical honors at the Drama Desk Awards. In 2005 he served as executive producer for the movie version of Rent.[2]

In 2004 his company, The Producing Office, produced the musical Avenue Q, which won three Tony Awards in 2004 -- Best Musical, Best Book and Best Score.[3]

In 2006 his company produced The Drowsy Chaperone, which received five Tony Awards out of 13 nominations. The play also received seven Drama Desk awards, including Best Musical, out of 14 nominations.[4]

In 2005, Kevin McCollum was invited to give the commencement address for the graduating class at University of Cincinnati.[5]

In 2009, his Broadway hit Avenue Q moved back Off-Broadway.
